Big Week

Last week we took a trip to One Off Apparel to check on the progress of our spring line. After everything that could go wrong did, from car trouble to snowstorms, we made it out to their shop near Worcester. As always, they showed us tremendous hospitality and let us right up and close to the screens, tees, presses and team. You can see pictures on the facebook fan page.

Then this weekend we worked on shooting the new line for the website, catalog and other materials. Everyone from the team, True East Ent., some of the folks from UJBA University, and Overtime Often all showed up to lend a hand. Big shoutout to Steve Aldeus of Ragnarok Clothing for coming through and providing accessories for the shoot. Catering by Primo Brothers Pizza on South St. (get the caramelized onions) You can see pictures on the facebook fan page of the photo shoot too.

Youth Regional Reportback from USSF on MLK Day

Last June, three buses packed with 150 youth activists and supporters rode to Detroit as part of the Northeast Freedom Rides delegation to the U.S. Social Forum (www.ussf2010.org). We were from the Boston-area, Worcester, Lowell, Springfield, Providence, and more. We built relationships, knowledge, movement, and power. And we want to share it with you and the beautiful youth that you work with!!!

Please mark your calendar for the Youth Regional Reportback from USSF!!! Youth from a handful of Boston organizations have been working on it. The event will include time to hear about the trip to Detroit, connect with people from across this youth movement we're all part of, a massive potluck, video & media from the trip, screening our own radical t-shirts, raffles, open mic & performances, HIV testing, sharing our current work, and building...building...building the next stage of the youth movement. Please come through!

From Brick City to Bean Town! This weekend we made our way to Concrete Jungle, this time to see Rah Digga's in-store promoting her new album "Classic". She packed the store and definitely gave one of the livest performances that the shop has seen.

Afterwards, we got a chance to build, get a copy of the album signed, and hit her off with a Steal Art Make Money shirt. When she said "thank's you saved me a trip to the mall, I'll wear it at the show tomorrow" we thought she might've just been being polite, but Rah's a woman of her word - thanks for showin love!

This was a busy labor day weekend for Scope. On Friday night, we put our first shirts on consignment for sale at Amauri's: Boston's Finest Boutique at 140 South Street in Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. This is the ONLY STORE where Scope Tees are available for purchase right off the racks, so be sure to check it out and show some love. They also have deals on kicks and fitteds and an in-store airbrush artist Von who's got some serious skills.

Saturday we were all over the place - Catch Wreck had a performance at the Boston Common we squaded up for. Catch did his thing and it was an absolutely beautiful day to be outside.

Then it was back to Amauri's to see our shirts on display and build more with the owners before heading down the block to Primo Brothers Pizza for a healthy dose of carmalized onions.

Then in the evening it was off to Sammy's Patio for Dane's Video Party and DL's birthday with Dante Luna, O.T.O, Pause, Blizz Cartel and others. It was a dope mix of people and lot of fun building and networking with cats as well as seeing some local (and not local) performances. Highlight being Dre Robinsons "Wha Do Dem."

What: Scope Urban Apparel is holding a contest to see who can come up with the best, most creative and catchy slogan for Scope. What that means we leave up to you. Entrants are encouraged to think about Scope's Mission to empower, educate and engage when formulating their slogans.

When: We are accepting entries from now until September 15. On September 15th we will select / name the winner and the winning slogan will be revealed.

The Prize: The winner will receive a Scope care package containing a free shirt of the size and design of their choice, among other goodies.
